One of the key pillars of Manifesta, the European Nomadic Biennial, is its strong focus on urban development within its Host Cities. Since Manifesta 12 Palermo, Manifesta has commissioned a pre-biennial urban research led by a internationally renowned architectural bureau, with the aim of unlocking ‘knowledge and structures’ and creating a foundational base for the biennial.
The Manifesta 14 Prishtina Urban Vision was commissioned to the Turin-based office CRA-Carlo Ratti Associati. The book entitled Public After All is the result of intensive research – conducted from 2021 to the start of 2022 – by an international team of architects and urbanists, in collaboration with Manifesta 14 and representatives of Prishtina institutions, such as Kosovo Architecture Foundation under the guidance of Bekim Ramku.
Apart from providing a research framework for facilitating the positive implementation of Manifesta 14 Prishtina, Public After All proposes a methodology, an agenda and an analysis to portray today’s Prishtina and acts as a tool for citizens to rethink the potential of their city and illustrates different possibilities to think and reclaim public space.
